Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 30- (What I ate for the day)

Last day of Whole30/Sugar Detox!

What does that mean? NOTHING!  I'm just going to keep going.  As I said at the beginning this is how I usually eat with a few treats here and there.

So what happened today on the "last" day?  Not much different than the usual.  First it's my day off, but I was still up with D's alarm and taking care of the animals.  Today was going to be a "wing it" kind of day.  We were getting a door repaired and had to wait for the call between 8 and 10 as to when they would be out.

I decided to have a decaf coffee at home with cinnamon and coconut milk along with my shake.  No it's not "Whole30" compliant but doesn't have anything nasty in it and it's an experiment to how I feel  with a shake at breakfast.  Maybe there will be a point I will do it after a workout or for lunch. We'll see!

I decided to not wait around since I needed to get a covered litter box and a few things from Better Health since they were having a sale on protein powder.  I got the call while I was shopping and I had time since he wasn't coming until the afternoon.

Gym time!

Treadmill warm up with usual up to 14%

Gluten kickbacks  4 sets 100#
Side lunges 4 sets
Abductor 115#, 130# 145# 160#
Adductor 110#, 130#, 160# 180#
Leg Curls 4 sets single leg 40# double 85# (squats in between)
L Raises 10# (light I know)
Push Press 20#
Pull Overs 35#
Single leg deadlift 35#
Push Ups
Starting with the L Raises I did ab work in between sets.

After that I decided to get milk for work so I had to stop at two Kroger and clean them out of almond milk!  Kinda frustrating when that is the best frothing almond milk around.  Of course it was nice there was a Starbucks right next store!  I have been loving the macchiato's lately!  I know I was cheating on work but it was right there.  How could I not?

COFFEE!!!

I was starving by the time I got home and needed lunch stat!  My Real Plans lunch was PaleOMG's "My New Go-To Meal"  I did change it up slightly.  I used a chicken sausage, no bacon and I added cabbage.  This was seriously good!  On a down note I had horrible bloating!  Ugh, those dang brussels!  I'm giving them up for a while after what I have are gone.  At least for a month to see how I do.

I had enough time to do some things around the house while the door guy was doing his repair.  He left at the perfect time so I was able to run the stuff I picked up earlier to work.  When I got back it was time to meditate and then feed the animals.  This guy, Felix, needs to work on being self sufficient. I have to get him to eat and go to the bathroom cause otherwise he lays around all day.

Food must be put in front of him or he won't ask to eat!  I don't have that problem.

He loves to stretch!

Noises from puppies have sparked his attention.

I prepped dinner earlier so all I needed to do was pop it into the oven.  It was going to take over an hour to bake.  Again, another Juli Bauer recipe!  Bacon Chorizo Chipotle Smothered Meatloaf.  This was unbelievably fantastic!  I didn't have the chipotle though.  Maybe with some of the leftover I will try it.

My piece came apart after I put D's on his plate.  I gave him carbs - mashed potatoes and peas.  I had sautéed cabbage and green onions.  He also asked for a grilled cheese after.  I scaled the recipe to feed 2 instead of 4.  There was still a pound of meat but so many vegetables!  So I guess you could say we each had half a serving.  I can see why he wanted more to eat!

Tomorrow morning will be early again.  D has to be to work at 7am and I have to pick up milk for work as soon as I get the email it's ready.  Then I will relax and do yoga.  Also, the vet is coming over in the afternoon to check out Felix and update Jack on a vaccine.

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 29 (What I ate for the day)

Day 29!

Work day!  I jumped out of bed and got to 30 minutes of yoga and headed downstairs to take care of the pups, Nostrand and Felix.  I took care of Felix last since I wanted to sit with him.  I made my shake and headed in.  He was happy to see me and purred and had happy feet.  He ate some food but mostly likes to lick the gravy!  Silly kitty.

I headed to work and it was cold!  Sometimes I don't like walking there, others I love it.  More like love it when it's warm out!

I got in and began my morning prep and had a cortado.  I didn't feel like a full coffee since I wanted to try and get more water in and I was running around, so it got cold too.

I threw lunch in a box this morning and headed out.  Here is what I threw in the box.  Leftover chicken - thigh and drumstick.  I added spaghetti squash and baby bella mushrooms with green goddess dressing.  It was pretty good, easy and quick.  I just sprinkled some salt and pepper on it and chowed down.  I never re heat at work since it would use the microwave so I eat it cold.

I got a bunch of work done and updates in the computer system, so I feel pretty good about it.  I also submitted a produce order.  I didn't feel like running to the grocery store in the morning.

I came home and let the dogs out and grabbed up Felix to show him around the rest of the house.  Which would be the basement and where the litter box will ultimately go.  Right now there is a box in the dog room.  Felix wants to be around us and the dogs certainly don't care about him.  Nostrand though is not a fan, but she will come around.

I decided to roast some vegetables, mainly cauliflower, brussels and, broccoli and a parsnip (for dinner).  The roasted cauliflower recipe I used was from Nom Nom Paleo and you can get it here.  It's a simple and easy recipe but it cooks for quite a while.  It would be ready in time for dinner, so that made me happy!  I put that in the oven and I went to meditate for 30 minutes.  I almost fell asleep!  But when I finished I got up with just the right amount of time to get the rest of the vegetables in the oven to roast.

Once the vegetables came out of the oven I got to the rest of dinner.  I chopped up a pre cooked sweet potato, broccoli, baby bella mushrooms, and roasted parsnip.  I quartered the roasted cauliflower and fried up 2 eggs.  Dinner was ready!  I took 10 HCL's and dug in.  But, I ended up bloating!  Ugh some of the brussels I ate had to have done it.  I thought that with the HCL I would have been better today but I guess not!  Well, I love them so much that I will either continue eating them and deal with the bloat, up my HCL when I eat them or get rid of them for a while and see how I do.  What to do?!

I'll figure it out!  Tomorrow is Day 30 and time to recap!

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 28 (What I ate for the day)

Day 28 and up bright and early.  Okay night bright at all.  It was still dark and snowing.  Snow!  I was completely shocked!  I had no idea it was going to snow and we are suppose to get 4 inches.  I loathe this weather!

I waited till D was leaving at 6:30 and place my Starbuck's order with my app and headed the 1/2 mile to pick it up.  So convenient!

YUM!

When I got home I made my protein shake and tried to figure out what I was going to do first.  Was I going to shop after the dentist and the gym or shop first?  Shop first!  I jumped in the car and went to Target.  I needed to get Zero water for D (they were out!), cereal for him and some Fancy Feast for Felix.  I was told he really likes the gravy lovers, so I grabbed a few cans of that.  Next was Whole Foods, I needed to get what was on my list I didn't already have for my Real Plans meals this week.  I got back home with time to spare before my dentist appointment.  I was finally getting my broken filling fixed!

I fed Felix, well a little and gave him some attention before heading out the door.

I grabbed 2 of these mini sticks since I felt a little hungry and figured I could eat them after before heading to the gym.

Here is what I did today.

Treadmill warm up
Single leg press 4 sets 90, 110, 2x 130
Leg press 5 sets 190, 210, 230, 250, 270
Single leg extensions 4 sets @ 40#
Leg extensions 4 sets @ 70# with air squats in between
Chest Press 4 sets @ 35# (db)
Abs
Goblet squats @ 35#
Shoulder press single arm 27.5#

I think that was it.  I didn't do thrusters  I was interrupted by working during so I ended up cutting it short to run up there and fix an issue.

It was about 1pm when I got home and I was more than ready for lunch.  I've been wanting to try these sausages.  I love spinach!

I cut them up and put them in a skillet with coconut oil, bacon, mushrooms, green beans, spaghetti squash and spinach.  This was a really good lunch!  I also had some almond butter, maybe a tablespoon.

As I was cleaning up, D came home!  I was quite surprised but he said that due to the weather work sent every home.  Nice!  It gave me a chance to run another errand for work so I didn't have to go out after dinner.  I got back from those and headed into see Felix and mediate for 30 minutes.  I missed it yesterday since we were busy.  I got cleaned up and started to get dinner ready.  I knew D would be hungry since it was already 5:30.

Real Plans stated that tonight was Chinese Chicken Chopped Salad!

D really liked this one.  I used the leftover chicken from last nights dinner.  Added to that was some seasonings, oils, lettuce, pea pods, carrots, cabbage and green onion, all mixed with a homemade dressing.  I will definitely make this one again.  I think I had it done in 15 minutes.

Now I am going to kick back and drink a cup of tea.

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 27 (What I ate for the day)

Day 27!

So I completely decided to not take a picture of my morning shake.  I mean really, how many times can you see the same thing?  Lunch was the same, you've already seen the meatloaf, plantains and broccoli - so why show them again?!
Work was really busy!  I didn't think I was even going to be able to eat my lunch to begin with, so a picture wasn't going to happen either way.

I was just telling my bestie that I put my Fitbit back on to see what my steps are on days I work and days I don't.  On non-workdays I am walking somewhere between 7k to 10k.  Why the range?  I think there are times it just doesn't count because the arm doesn't swing right.  On day I am working I'm getting 20k steps.  I think it all evens out!  Walking is really important for overall health, specially weightless.  I'm not looking for that but I think it's good.

On my walk home from work I had to stop at the store and pick up ground turkey for D's lunches this week.  As I browned that in a skillet with coconut oil I defrosted the whole chicken.  I completely forgot to take it out early.  Oh well.
From Real Plans I made the Spatchcocked Adobo chicken.

I cut it up and had it with green beans, and spaghetti squash topped with green goddess dressing.

I used a cast iron skillet coated in coconut oil and rubbed the chicken in a mix of garlic powder, onion powder, salt and oregano.  The skin cooked up so crispy and flavorful with those seasonings.  I placed it in a 425 degree oven for 50 minutes.

We headed out for a walk with the dogs shortly after dinner and stopped for a decaf coffee.  When we came back we decided to move the new kitty to the dog room since he would be out (not under the bed) and there is nothing to hide under.  We also renamed him Felix.  He's just so cute and lovable!!

Well, it's late and I need to get to bed!  Until Day 28!

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 26 (What I ate for the day)

Saturday!

Today I am going to look at a new to us kitty cat!  I'm pretty sure we are going to get him.  Happy Joy dance!

It was windy last night so I didn't get much sleep since Jack was on and off the bed and just couldn't get comfortable.  I think I woke up around 5 but laid in bed.  When I finally decided to get up it was almost 7.  I don't have a clock in our bedroom, so that's why I had no idea of the time.

I did a few things around the house before going down to Dunkin' for coffees and donuts for the pups.

I decided I wanted a real breakfast this morning and take a shake for lunch since I would be out looking at the kitty right after the gym.

Thought I would stop and take a gym selfie before I started my sets!
Here was my workout today. I started out with my usual treadmill warm up. Followed by:
Static lunges
Split squats
Squats
Step ups
Kettlebell swing
lat raises, db curl and presses
ab work in between all

After the gym I stopped at Starbucks for a coffee and had my protein shake.  What's in my protein shake?  BioChem Whey Protein Isolate (Chocolate), 1/2 scoop Perfect Keto, 1/2 avocado, 1 tsp maca, 1 cup water, 4 ice cubes.  It's really good and not to heavy.

I got to PetsMart and met Buffy (male) and immediately fell in love with him.  He was scared but came right up to me and gave me kisses on the forehead, rubbed up on me and purred.

Just look at that handsome cuteness!  About an hour and a half the paperwork was done, I was buying kitty food and heading out the door with him in tow!  He wasn't happy about the ride home and was a bit freaked out.  I certainly don't blame him.  I put him in the spare bedroom and set him up with his bed, litter and food and water.  He of course hid under the bed.  I sat in the room for my 30 minutes of meditation and was hoping he would come out.  I'll give him some time.  He will come out and join everyone else.

Back in December I ordered both D and I an Enso ring.  Well after 3 tries we finally got the right ring size.  We are both happy with them but D thinks mine needs to be more feminine.

Saturday night is dinner out.  We went to Mt. Chalet that is walking distance from the house.  It makes it nice when we can't decide where to go.  I thought for sure I wouldn't get my usual, but I did!  Piedmontese burger with bacon, guacamole, coleslaw, lettuce, tomato and mayo.  It was so good as usual.  I forgot to take a picture before jumping right into it.  Haha, I guess I was hungry.  I forgot my HCL but had read (while freaking out) that I can take it 30 to 45 minutes after eating.  So as soon as I got home I took them.  I think I finally found my current magic number!  It's 10.  Yes, I did say 10 which is quite high.  It will change as my gut heals.  I'm patient.  I'm staying positive about my health and keeping my stress levels low.

That's the best I can do and I will keep on being mindful.

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 25 (What I ate for the day)

FriYay, workday!

Ok, so I'm not that stoked about going to work!  I know I have a lot of things to make.

A good part of my yoga practice was without the big dawg this morning.  For whatever reason he decided he was going to hang out downstairs.  Though he did decide to come back up later.  I had a bunch going before I even left for work.  I didn't prep my lunch or D's for he day so I had to get that done and make my breakfast.  I accomplish it though and left for work on time.  I didn't think I needed to bore you with the picture of the shake, since it's the same as it has been.

I ended up having a coffee shortly after I got to work, while I was running around like crazy and I had to walk up to the store to pick up a few items.  At least it's just a block away!

Lunch was roasted broccoli with spaghetti squash topped with green goddess dressing and pork sausage.  It needed up being filling.  I took 10 Betaine HCL capsules just before.  The sad part is I think I really need to up it.  I figured I would give it at least a day of 10 capsules per meal to see if my stomach would do anything to show me it was enough.  A warming sensation? A little heartburn? But nothing, zero, zip!

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful as a workday goes, which is always good.

On my way home I decided I (thought about before) I wanted to do a FB poll to see who would like to have a meal delivery service.  Since I will be studying to become an NTP I believe this service will fit in well to begin with.  A couple people I know were for sure interested.  So next I need to do a little more research to see how much to charge.  There would be an initial setup and then I would need to figure the cost meals and overhead.

I came home to meditate for 30 minutes and happy that I am continuing with it!

Dinner time.  I had another piece of AIP meatloaf and mashed cauliflower.  I just took the roasted cauliflower I already had and placed it in the blender with a little bit of canned coconut milk.  A few swirls and it was ready to to go.  I topped the meatloaf with Tessemae's Creamy Ranch dressing.  It probably has a little more dill then what I am use to but I'm digging it!

Well, until tomorrow!  I have things to finish up!

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 24 (What I ate for the day)

Thursday!  I actually slept in until D's alarm went off!  6:15!  Woot woot!  Of course I didn't go to bed until after 10:30.

I had my protein shake and it made me chilly!  But at least not as chilly as I was yesterday!

Shortly after I had finished I received an email that the order I put in for work was ready early!  At least by an hour and a half which was perfect since I could easily park now at work and unload.  I grabbed a decaf coffee while at work and headed to Whole Foods.  YES, again!  I didn't go to the hot bar!  It was too early anyway!  I needed to get a sweet potato, ground turkey, kale and yogurt.  I was good and didn't get anything more!  After I went to the pet store to get treats and kitty food.  Hopefully there will be a surprise on Saturday!

When I got home I cooked up some Paleo Breakfast Scotch Eggs from Stupid Easy Paleo that I wanted for tonight's breakfast for dinner.  I only made half the recipe since I still have meatloaf.  I cooked up the other half of the sausage for another time too.

D asked for sweet potato chocolate chip cookies.  So I used Sally's Baking Addiction Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and made a couple tweaks.  I subbed sweet potato for pumpkin, used coconut sugar instead of white sugar.  Everything else I kept the same.

I then did some restorative yoga.  If you haven't checked out Yoga By Candace I would highly suggest her Youtube channel.  By the end of the 30 minutes my stomach was rumbling!  Luckily all I needed to do was reheat my food and lunch would be served.

AIP meatloaf and sriracha brussels.  So good together.  As I have stated when I first made the meatloaf it is packed with veggies.  If you haven't checked out Real Plans yet I would highly suggest it.  Specially if you have a busy lifestyle and hate to meal plan.

Dinner!  I've been looking forward to this breakfast for dinner.  I had the scotch eggs I made earlier (I had one here and was still hungry so ate another).  Then 2 slices of Legit Bread with Performance Nut Butter.  It was seriously good, except I needed another egg!  Oh well, it's all good and it's all healthy good for me food!  I want to pack on some muscle and show those gains from the gym!

Oh, and D liked the cookies.  Said they are a little thicker then regular chocolate chip but then these are gluten free, without eggs and added sweet potato.  I hope you try out Sally's recipes!  Everything she makes is fabulous and I have been able to convert everything I have ever made to gluten free.

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 23 (What I ate for the day)

Day 23 people!  No judgey judgey here!

This is about me and everyone is different, right?!  I'm still sugar detoxing but not in the "whole30" scheme of things.  Well what do I mean?  See below and my breakfast!

I have Stupid Easy Paleo's Performance Paleo cookbook and in it is this Hulk Shake though the Sweet Potato Pie Recovery Shake sounds just as good!.  Perfect!  I do have some whey protein that D wasn't using but I think it's concentrate and not isolate.  As I learned today if you have a milk intolerance than isolate is the best choice because it removes more of the lactase leaving roughly 1%.  So I'm thinking do-able.  Why a protein shake?  One I think it will be absorbed by my compromised gut and if I'm not super hungry it's "light" enough.

Of course I ended up at Whole Foods while looking for my protein powder (they were having a sale!)  I ended up again at the hot bar!  I have food already made at home but to have Nom Nom Paleo's food, I mean really?!  I can't resist!  Pineapple Pulled Pork and Shredded Brussels with bacon.  I also love the broccoli crunch salad.  That one isn't the cleanest but still so good and I don't have it very often.

Not sure how good it actually looks to you but for me - so yum!

Here is my Whole Foods protein powder purchase.  I checked out the price for Whole Foods versus Vitamin Shoppe and it was $10 less.  Score!  I'm hoping it's as good as I've been told!  It's chocolate so really how bad can it be?  I just hope I don't react to it, which I don't think so!  I will try another Hulk Shake tomorrow morning and see how it goes!  It made me really cold this morning and it's already cold outside, brrr!!

Oh I did go to the gym this morning and here was my workout.

20 minute incline treadmill walk
gluten day!
100# gluten machine kickbacks
side lunges - bodyweight 4 sets 10 each side
abductor and adductor machine - roughly 115 to 145# on each
reverse leg curls - single legs 40# then double 75#
lat raises
20# push press
35# pull overs
I also did ab work in between sets - so lots of abs as usual.

Tomorrow is a rest day so I will be doing restorative yoga.

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 22 (What I ate for the day)

Day 22 and what I ate!

Be warned!  It is not perfect Whole30/Sugar Detox.... that being said this is based on my functional MD's recommendations.  Since my labs are not where I want them to be I am determined but vowed not to be stressed about it!

After yoga instead of my coffee I had hot water with lemon and sea salt.  I would have coffee later once I got to work.  I am waiting on my protein powder to be shipped and may only have it a few times a week, but it does have a lot of vitamins an minerals I need.  So I had this Paleo protein powder that I mixed with a whole avocado and some coconut milk.

Work was pretty slow so I needed up doing an inventory and a few other things that so I didn't need to go in on my day off later this week.

I ate my lunch between 10:30 and 11am.

From Real Plans I made AIP Meatloaf and OMG it was so good!  It is loaded with a ton of veggies!  Zucchini, carrots and onions.  So happy I have 3 more pieces to enjoy this week!  I paired it with brussels and spaghetti squash with sea salt and coarse ground black pepper.  Can I say again how good it was?!  I did add a little bit of mayo too.  I was also good and drank water, which I have been lacking on.

I thought I would showcase the double decker grilled cheese I make at work.  Doesn't it look fabulous!  I'm seriously going to make some AIP cheese and make myself one this week!  If you are near Birmingham stop by (Birmingham Roast) and have one!  We have gluten free bread that is locally made too from Celiac Specialties in Rochester!

I got out of work a bit late but as soon as I got home I sat down to meditate for 30 minutes.  It feels good to get back into it.  I'm committed to those 30 minutes no matter what.  After I sat down to look at my DoTERRA oils to see what could benefit me and my digestion.  I have a few I may try.

I got word from D that he was going to be a bit late, so I held off and had dinner ready for 6:30.

Tonight's dinner was a burger with sautéed mushroom (coconut oil) with a fried egg.  I paired it with some greens and on the side roasted cauliflower, asparagus and green beans.  After I snapped this picture I decided to top it with Sir Kensington's mayo.  I think it was a mayo kinda day!

Now to more relaxing and some dandelion tea.  Until day 23!

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 21 (What I ate for the day)

It was another early morning for Day 21 and what I ate for the day!  I was up at 5:30 with D since he needed to be at work at 7am.  I had some work errands to do and getting them done early would be good since parking at work is a nightmare!

I had time to have my cup of collagen coffee and met oil.  I will be changing that up since I chatted with my functional MD today and a reason I may not be eating first meal until later in the day could be due to the coffee consumption.  So I will eat my first meal and have coffee later in the morning.

I got dressed for the gym and headed out to get my errands done.  I did grab a bar (Julian's Bakery Pegan Protein) on my way out cause I had that feeling I would be hungry shortly, which I was and glad I brought it.  I probably wouldn't be able to get through my workout without it.  I don't think it's Whole30 complaint, but I'm not completely Whole30 either.

I did feel a little nauseous after eating it though.  I think it's the inca seeds!?

I got to the gym and did the following routine

20 minute incline treadmill walk (4.2) @ 10% to 14%
3 to 4 rounds - 6 to 8 reps
Leg Press - single leg 90 to 130#
Leg Press 210 to 250#
Leg extensions - single leg 40#
Leg extensions 70#
Body weight squats in between extensions
db chest press 35#
chest fly 20#
goblet squats 35#
db shoulder press 25#
I did abs in between each exercise starting with the chest press.  I finished off with some straight arm pull downs and a quick set of fixed lat pull downs.

I headed to Starbucks for a decaf coffee with cinnamon and then to Whole Foods.  I was double charged the other day when I bought ghee.  They were so helpful and nice and even gave me a gift card for the trouble.  So I picked up a bag of Siete Lime Tortilla chips and some RxBars for D.  If the hot bar would have been open I would have grabbed more Nom Nom Paleo food but it was so I needed to go home and cook some food.

Bilinski chicken mushroom sausage (made 2) and sautéed brussels, onions, broccoli and spaghetti squash in Kettle and Fire bone broth.  It came out so amazing.  After lunch I had my Skype appointment with my functional.  I love being able to see a doctor via Skype.  Anyway there I things I need to work on like stress management and improving my immune system.  My gut is inflamed and I think with getting that straight and calming myself, which includes 30 minutes of meditation EVERYDAY will be beneficial.  I am determined to get myself straight in the next 3 to 6 months.  He also mention doing a detox in 3 months.  I'm also not going to stress about the things that I can't control.  I need to learn to let go.

I had a dentist appointment shortly after that (and a couple stops in between).  My teeth are cleaned and going to fix a broken filling next week.  The hygienist said that my gums were great!  That's the first time I've ever heard that!

I got home and began my meditation.  Well first I had to feed Jack, Stryker and Nostrand or I would never get my peaceful 30 minutes.  I went into youtube and found a 30 minute music meditation, not guided  and began to focus on breathing.  I also started a mantra of "my body is healthy and strong".  Thinking this mantra brings about a positive change and I am committed to it.

I decided to do some food prep and get dinner going.  I roasted some veggies - the usual suspects - cauliflower, broccoli, brussels, asparagus, green beans, sweet potatoes and spaghetti squash.  I made an AIP meatloaf topped with bacon.  I pan seared the remaining bacon too.

For dinner I cooked up kale in ghee with onions and garlic and pan seared the salmon in more ghee.  The skin was crispy and  ate that too with a little salt.

I ended up topping the salmon with green goddess dressing.  I'm super addicted to that stuff and it's just so clean!

So I'm finishing up with today's post with a cup of Pukka cinnamon tea and going to relax.  Good night and till day 22.

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 20

It's Sunday Work Day!

Up 30 minutes than what I needed to be!  Typical!

Yoga with the big dawg got started right after I turned on the coffee pot (decaf).  I put collagen and MCT oil in my coffee today.

I would be recipe testing some whole food smoothies, no added sugar at work so definitely didn't need to eat right away.  I did have my Whole Foods hot bar meal from yesterday that I would take along with some greens.  Needless to say, work was stressful! I got everything done that I needed and I was busy cooking on top of that.  The smoothie recipes came out great too.  That certainly makes me happy.  I cooked up some chicken and bacon (sampling!)  But, I knew I needed to eat a full meal, which happened after 9:30.

Below the greens are Nom Nom Paleo's brussels, cauliflower rice and grilled mushrooms.  I added a couple slices of avocado too.

Not much else for the rest of work except baking some almond butter bars (yes, I ate some almond butter) and gluten free carrot cake (no sampling).

I got home but didn't do any food prep for the week, so I know I will be doing that tomorrow at some point.  I have an appointment with my functional MD to go over labs and a dentist appointment later in the afternoon.

D got home from riding and said he wanted to get a gluten free pizza.  He was going to try Domino's this time because Buddy's Pizza wan't very good.  The crust was thin and crispy, he likes it that way.  He was thrown back by the price ($13 for a small) but I told him Buddy's was more.  I had leftover vegetables and chicken mushroom sausages to cook up.  Broccoli, spaghetti squash, kale sautéed with onions in coconut oil.  Then I added a whole small avocado and topped everything with Green Goddess dressing from Trader Joe's.

Another short post but going to spend time with D and it's going to be an early morning!

Whole30/Sugar Detox/AIP Journey - Day 19

Ah another early morning Saturday where I get to sleep in but the animals won't really let me....

I woke but didn't move and then Jack stirred and headed downstairs.  I followed and let him and Stryker out.  I tried to go back to bed but Jack laid right on top of me letting me know he wanted me up.  All of almost 70 lbs of him and then he likes to kick me in the head.  Needless to say I got up and fed everyone.  My day was going to be relaxed yet productive.  I did a little cardio before coffee.  BOD 80 Day Obsession Cardio Flow (I think that's what it was called).  I didn't sweat but got my heart rate up a bit.  After I got my cardio flow on it was time for a decaf coffee.  I headed to Dunkin and picked up D his coffee and me a decaf and I typically have a free donut coupon for the pups.  I always get them a sour cream donut since the cat like that one too.

Time for breakfast.  Still I wasn't very hungry.  I was sipping on my collagen coffee and I figured I needed to eat since I was going to be lifting at the gym later in this morning.

Ignore the price tag! LOL  I got Bilinski's sausage since it sounded pretty good, has zero sugar and something different!

About 5 minutes later I had this breakfast hash.  I used 1 1/2 pieces of sausage along with broccoli, brussels and spaghetti squash.  This was good and I have more of it for tomorrow and Monday.  I finished just as D was getting up.  I sat for a while with him and then decided it was gym time and shopping after for next weeks meals.

My Saturday gym routine is 20 minutes incline on the treadmill between 10% and 14%.  After that it's free weights.  Walking lunges with 30# db, curtsey squats with 30# db.  Lots of ab work in between.  Sumo squats with 30# db, db curl and press with 15#, lateral raise with 15#.  I also did 20# kb step ups and kb swings with squats in between reps.  I typically do a circuit of 3 to 4 exercises with ab work in between each move.  I do 6 to 8 reps and 3 to 4 rounds.

Grocery store time!  Trader Joe's was busy (doesn't help that there is construction) and I got just about everything I needed, which I figured.  Brussels, green onion, onions, spices, salmon, ground pork.  What they don't typically have, quality ghee, plantains and collagen (Vital Proteins).  I also stopped at Pet People for cat food.  I didn't feel like going south since everything else I needed was all on the same road, just miles apart.

I got to Whole Foods and got a few more things than I planned.  At the hot bar I got some Nom Nom Paleo brussels and cauliflower rice for brunch at work tomorrow.  I also picked up ghee, Bilinski's sausage, white sweet potato, spinach mix, Vital Protein's, GT's Kombucha, Tessemae's Ranch Dressing, and cat food.  The lines where long and I didn't think I had as many items as I did.  I jumped in the 10 item line.  The cashier promptly told me I had too many items for that line but she would take me this time.  I always bag my own groceries anyway to keep things moving.  She repeatedly told me over and over how not to do it again and next time only 10 or under.  I apologized to her several times and said that it was a completely inappropriate thing for me to do and I didn't realize how many items I had as I was trying to hurry.  I would never do it again.  She told me again one more time.... 😳😲

I also grabbed a coffee before I left and headed home.  I had a little bit of banana as a snack and brussels, go figure!!

D called me while he was out on his ride and said he wanted to try to get 7Greens again.  It was 4:45pm, it was a gamble.  I called them this time and they took my order and said they closed at 5pm.  Not a problem since I am 3 minutes away.  I got up there and they hadn't finished our bowls.  Though it would have been nice if they mixed it, so I had to do that when I got home.  No biggie.  D got the Popeye bowl and added an egg, green beans, sunflower seeds and cucumber.  I got my beloved Blake bowl and added roasted brussels (I seriously have an issue, so addicting).

I was talking to my bestie today about how I only eat 2 real meals everyday.  I know I should be eating more than that.  I'm thinking it's the amount of vegetables that I have been eating.  Maybe it's more protein?  More fat (doubtful).  I'm not really sure but I wasn't hungry when I ate my bowl but knew I needed to eat.  I've been working on eating intuitively and maybe that is the real reason for only 2 meals.

Who else has that issue?  Thoughts and comments?
